Lois Alberts, 93 - May 29, 2017

Lois Marguerite Alberts, 93, of Gothenburg passed away Monday, May 29, 2017, at Gothenburg.
Services took place at the First United Methodist Church on Monday, June 5, with the Rev. Joel Plisek officiating. Interment was at the Gothenburg Cemetery.
Alberts was born Oct. 18, 1923, north of Willow Island, the daughter of Steward R. and Gladys F. (Deal) Vickers.
She grew up in Willow Island and graduated from Gothenburg High with the Class of 1941.
In 1944, she married Frank E. Jenkins. To this union, four children were born.
Alberts was a busy wife and mother, but was still involved with her kids’ 4-H activities and Cub Scouts. She was also employed with Glen Price for a short time, and for Dickenson Safeway store as well.
On Jan. 18, 1973, she married Emil C. Alberts. She was actively involved with the couple’s farm and ranch operation as well as cooking meals, farming, irrigating, bookkeeping and working cows. She was also involved with a secretary’s group.
?She enjoyed life on the farm, especially the animals including dogs, cows and calves, horses and chickens, according to family members. She also enjoyed watching sports, working crossword puzzles and sewing.
?Alberts was a member of the United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by: her husband of 40 years, Emil Alberts; a son, Mike Jenkins; daughter, Karen Mann; granddaughter, Tiffany Logan; her parents, Steward and Gladys Vickers.
Survivors include: her two daughters—Shirley Logan of Warren, OH, and Janet Jenkins of Gothenburg; six grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Memorials are suggested the Methodist Church.
