Cynthia Parsons, 61 - June 29, 2017

Cynthia “Cindy” M. Parsons, 61, of Lincoln, originally of Cozad, passed away Thursday, June 29, 2017.
A memorial service took place on Thursday, July 6, at Faith Bible Church in Lincoln at 11 a.m.
Parsons was born Aug. 28, 1955, at Cozad to Georgia (Sheets, Parsons) Bartlett and Melvin Parsons.
She attended school at Lucerne Valley District 27 from kindergarten through sixth grade and then attended Cozad City Schools graduating in 1973.
Parsons went on to graduate from Hastings Community College with an associates degree in secretarial science.
On Sept. 27, 1975, she married Greg Newton of Lexing­ton. During this time, she was employed at Countryman and Associates. In 1983, she moved to Kearney and accepted a position at Eaton Corporation, and later with BD Construction.
On May 24, 1985, her daughter Kristina Marie was born at Good Samaritan Hospital.
In 1995, she married David Brundage and moved back to Cozad in 1996, where she was employed with Berreckman and Berreckman Law Office, and later became self-employed with bookkeeping services.
Her first grandchildren, Hayden and Jordyn Pape, were born in July of 2009, which prompted her to move to Lincoln to becloser to her family. In 2012, a third grandchild, Ashlyn, joined the family. Her grandchildren were her world, according to family members.
?While residing in Lincoln, she continued her bookkeeping service and developed a substantial client base and a network of extremely supportive friendships.
Parsons was preceded in death by: her parents, Georgia Bartlett, Wayne Bartlett and Melvin Parsons; a niece, Carly Gray.
Survivors include: her daughter, Kristy (Steve) Pape, and grandchildren—Hayden, Jordyn and Ashlyn, all of Lincoln; three sisters—Kathy Gray-Goos of Holdrege, Pam (Bill)Houchin of Riverdale and Mona (Rick) Meyer of Mesa, AZ; two brothers—Lonnie (Kelly) Parsons of North Platte and Michael (Jennifer) Bartlett of Cozad; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
