Jerry Otterstad, 75 - August 01, 2017

Jerry Allen Otterstad, 75, of Willow Island passed away Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2017, at Bellevue.
Services took place at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel on Saturday, Aug. 5, with the Rev. James McCrickard officiating. Burial was at the Cozad Cemetery.
Otterstad was born Aug. 27, 1941, at Joice, IA, son of Norris and Ida (Helegeson) Otterstad. He grew up in the Joice area and graduated from Joice High School.
On Aug. 28, 1966, he married Diann Wirtjes at Elk Creek Lutheran Church in rural Kensett, IA. To this union, three children were born.
He and his family farmed and fed cattle at Joice until purchasing a feedlot near Cozad in 1971.
Otterstad enjoyed professional basketball, especially the Lakers and Magic Johnson and the Cavs and Lebron James, according to family members. He had a love for raising and feeding cattle and enjoyed showing cattle and visiting with others in the cattle showing business.
?He was preceded in death by: his wife, Diann Otterstad in 2015; and his parents, Ida and Norris Otterstad.
?Survivors include: his son, Travis (Jill) of Tuttle, OK; his two daughter—Tammy (Joe) Martinez of Tampa, FL, and Tarah (Rene) Takougnadi of Papillion; four grandsons—Zachary, Jared and Justin Martinez of Tampa and Didier Takougnadi of Papillion; a step-granddaughter, Tiffani Pruitt of Tuttle.
