Nancy Johnson, 67 - August 20, 2017

Nancy Jo Johnson, 67, of Kasilof, AK, originally of Gothenburg, passed away Sunday, Aug. 20, 2017, at her home in Alaska, following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
As per request, cremation was chosen with no services.
Johnson was born at Gothenburg with her twin sister, Peggy, on June 22, 1950, to Charles and Donna Vickers Burson.
As a child, she was baptized at the First Baptist Church of Gothenburg.
She grew up southwest of Gothenburg, attending a rural school, where she was active in 4-H and Theta Rho, graduating from Gothenburg High School with the Class of 1969.
Johnson then attended an airline school and worked a short time at Denver, CO.
She was employed with Tenneco Automotive for 18 years before moving to Kasilof in 1990.
For the past 20 years, she worked for the Alaska Marine Highway system on the M/V Tustumena out of Homer, AK.
Johnson loved her church at Soldotna and enjoyed jigsaw puzzles as well as traveling Alaska, according to family members.
?She was preceded in death by: her parents, Charles and Donna Burson; brothers-in-law—John Rowland and Jon Swinehart.
?Survivors include: her husband, Doug Johnson; her daughter, LaDonna (Jeff) Brock of Gothen­burg; a son, Charl­es E. Burson of Kearney; step-daughter, Jennifer (Nathan) Tackett of Sutherland; grandchildren—Ty (Saraid) Brock, Dade and Dakin Brock, and Gracie Burson; great-granddaughter, Brinlye Brock; sisters—Karole Rowland of Littleton, CO, Connie (Charlie) Bihlmaier of Gothenburg and her twin, Peggy Swinehart of Kearney; special friends, Erick and Kelley Hugarte of Soldotna; numerous extended family members.
