Cynthia Damme, 59 - December 31, 2008
Cynthia M. (Schultz) Damme, 59, of North Platte, died Friday, Dec. 26, 2008, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
A memorial service was held on Tuesday, Dec. 30, at Carpenter Memorial Chapel with Ned Cooper officiating.
Damme was born Jan. 11, 1949, at St. Mary’s Hospital in North Platte, to Floyd and Viola (Spidell) Schultz. She had attended North Platte Public Schools and graduated from North Platte High School in 1967.
She was employed in the restaurant business for 10 to 15 years, worked for Armadillo Express at Union Pacific Railroad for five years, and then as a clerk at Sands Motel until her retirement at the age of 52.
Damme enjoyed spending time with her five grandchildren, playing marbles, going to car shows with her yellow mustang, and her annual vacations to Mexico, according to family members. She also enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s school programs and ball games.
She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary and the Moose Lodge.
?Damme was preceded in death by: a brother, Floyd L. “Jay” Schultz; a sister, Mindy Sue (Schultz) Brown; grandparents, H.P. and Olsa E. Headley Schultz and James and Viola Spidell.
?Survivors include: her husband, Larry Damme of North Platte; a son, Vern D. (Mary) Duffield of North Platte; a daughter, Salena (Art) Christophersen of Brady; two stepsons—Darrell Damme of Lincoln and Don Damme of Tennessee; her parents, Floyd and Viola Schultz of North Platte; brother, Gary Schultz of North Platte; half-sister, Marcie Joy Carlson of Fremont; five grandchildren—Brittney, Madison and Trinity Christophersen all of Brady, and Julia and Nathan Damme of Lincoln.
A memorial has been established.
