Blanche Soderman, 98 - September 17, 2017

Blanche V. Soderman, 98, of Gothenburg passed away Sunday, Sept. 17, 2017, at Hilltop Estates in Gothenburg.
Services took place at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 21, at the Evangelical Free Church of Gothenburg with the Rev. Scott Newman officiating. Burial was at the Gothenburg Cemetery.
A visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 20, at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel in Gothenburg.
Soderman was born Nov. 16, 1918, at Brady, daughter of Elmer and Alma (Elander) Sundquist. She grew up on a family farm north of Brady.
She attended Kearney State Teachers College and taught school for two years before she married Floyd Soderman on May 23, 1943, at the home of her parents.
To this union, two children were born. The couple resided at North Platte (1943-45), Denver, CO (1946-47), Brady (1948-88) and Gothenburg (1989-2017).
Soderman was a member of the Svea Dal Ladies Aide.
?She enjoyed gardening and growing flowers as well as doing counted cross stitch, crocheting, puzzles, crossword puzzles and reading, according to family.
?Soderman was preceded in death by: her husband, Floyd Soderman in 1999; her parents, Elmer and Alma; a sister, Pearl Anderson; infant brother, John.
Survivors include: her daughter, Jean Soderman of Gothenburg; her son, Donald (Emily) Soderman of Alda; two granddaughters—Donelle Zapata of Gretna and Melinda (Jeremy) Benson of Georgetown,TX; seven great-grandchildren; numerous extended family members.
