Michael Reed, 72 - September 19, 2017

Michael “Mike” Reed, 72, of Pampa, TX, formerly of Hart, TX, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2017, at Pampa.
Memorial graveside services took place on Saturday, Sept. 23, at Hart Cemetery with Clint Shelton, his son-in-law, officiating.
Reed was born Feb. 18, 1945, at Plainview, TX, to Clarice and Glyn Reed. He grew up and attended school in Hart, graduating with the Class of 1963.
After graduating high school, he enrolled in South Plains College and later joined the U.S. National Guard Reserves.
He was a born-and-raised farmer who worked alongside his father for numerous years on the family farm. Eventually, his family would sell the family farm and he semi-retired, but would help other farmer friends during harvest until his health no longer allowed.
A few years later, he moved to Pampa where he could be closer to his daughter, and where he would make several friends. In his later years, he loved to work in his garden, watch the Dallas Cowboys and spoil his favorite dog, Moly.
Above all, he was a fighter, he had a long and hard medical illness that took a lot of his physical abilities but it never ever took his will to live and thrive, according to family members.
