LeRoy Cyriacks, 85 - April 07, 2018

LeRoy Edward Cyriacks, 85, of Grand Island, formerly of Gothenburg, died April 7, 2018, in Grand Island.
He was born Sept. 19, 1932, on the family farm near Gothenburg, son of Albert and Margaret Cyriacks.
In 1953, LeRoy joined the Army and served as a confinement specialist for two years. While serving his country he earned the National Defense Service Medical SS (Carbine) and the Good Conduct Medal. He married Elsie Struempler on July 24, 1955 in Cozad and to this union two daughters were born—Darlene and Lisa.
LeRoy was baptized and confirmed in the American Lutheran Church. He served one term on the church council and several years on the church cemetery board. Farming and ranching were LeRoy’s life and hobby, he was always busy on the farm and never one to sit idle. LeRoy and Elsie lived on the farm until 2000, then they moved into Gothenburg, and in 2015 they moved to Grand Island.
Surviving are his wife, Elsie Cyriacks of Grand Island; two daughters, Darlene Boehnke of Omaha, and Lisa (Curtis English) Cyriacks of Crestone, Colo.; sister-in-law, Ruth Cyriacks; two nephews, Dan (Audrey) Dyke,and Bradley (Carol) Cyriacks; three nieces, Diane (Sisto) Rangel, Julie (Cal) Dooley, and Debra (Mike) Olsen.
LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Donald Cyriacks, and Charly Norman Cyriacks; sister, Rosella Dyke; son-in-law, Walt Boehnke; and two nephews, Craig Cyriacks, and Steven Cyriacks.
Memorial Services will be held at the American Lutheran Church in Gothenburg on Wednesday, April 11, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Jon Mapa officiating. Interment will follow in the Gothenburg Cemetery.
