Lucille Mussman, 87 - December 10, 2008
Lucille Ruth Mussman, 87, of Greeley, CO, formerly of Gothenburg, died Friday, Dec. 5, 2008, at Fairacres Manor in Greeley.
Services were held on Tuesday, Dec. 9, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. A private family inurnment was held at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Mussman was born Jan. 9, 1921, to Henry and Augusta (Meyer) Behring, at Deshler. She attended grades one through eight at a private Lutheran school and graduated from Deshler High School in 1938. Following high school, she attended the University of Nebraska.
On Sept. 28, 1941, she married Edgar W. Mussman at Deshler. The couple were lifelong companions, according to family members.
In 1952, she and her husband moved to Gothenburg where her husband was in business for 12 years.
The couple then moved to Greeley in 1964 where they purchased Bennett Cleaners. They were in the dry-cleaning business for more than 50 years.
Mussman loved the Lord and was dedicated to her church, Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, said family members. She dedicated countless hours in prayer for her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
?She had many interests and enjoyed cooking and needlepoint as well as having pride in her family and home, according to family members.
?Mussman was preceded in death by: her parents, Henry and Augusta; her husband, Edgar Mussman; sister, Erna; brother, Ernest.
Survivors include: her three daughters—Cheryl of Loveland, CO, Marcia of Sterling, CO, and Rhonda of Greeley; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Laverna Morrisey of Omaha.
