George Gale, 77 - August 06, 2008
Graveside services with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, at Fort McPherson National Cemetery at Maxwell with Bishop Tom Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints officiating.
A visitation for memorial book signatures was held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday at the Berryman Funeral Home in Cozad.
Gale was born Oct. 24, 1930, at Tetonia, ID, to Arthur and Florence (Ricks) Gale. He graduated from Tetonia High School.
On Dec. 7, 1949, he entered the U.S. Marine Corps., proudly serving until 1966. In 1975, he entered the U.S. Air Force Reserve, retiring in 1983.
He married Marilyn Province on Oct. 3, 1992, at Reno, NV. The couple made their home at California where he was employed with the Lucky Grocery Store chain. The couple later moved to Gothenburg, where he worked at the Veteran’s Service Office for over 10 years.
?Gale was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and was a master mason at the Fairview Masonic Lodge No. 92.
?He was proud of his long and faithful service to his country, according to family members.
?Gale was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Florence.
Survivors include: his wife, Marilyn Gale of Cozad; a step-son, Duran Freese of Farnam; granddaughter, Shari Cook of Farnam; two brothers—Jesse (Margarite) Gale of Kennewick, WA, and Ricks (Maxine) Gale of Boise, ID; two sisters—Florence Kiholme of Boise, and June Harrison of Chesterfield, MO.
A memorial has been established.
