Duane Lambrecht, 68 - May 28, 2008
Duane A. Lambrecht, 68, of Kenesaw died Tuesday, May 20, 2008, at the Hospice House at Omaha.
Services were held on Friday, May 23, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at Kenesaw with the Rev. Paul Duffy officiating. Burial was at the Kenesaw Cemetery.
Lambrecht was born on Nov. 9, 1939, to Otto A. and Lilia R. (Kroll) Lambrecht at Hastings. He graduated from Kenesaw High School in 1957.
Following graduation, he joined the Army and served in Worms, Germany, until 1959. He was then employed at several different jobs.
Lambrecht was united in marriage to Sharon Janssen on March 27, 1965, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Glenvil.
He farmed and raised cattle in the Kenesaw area until 2001 when he retired. He and his wife then moved into Kenesaw, and spent time traveling.
Lambrecht was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and numerous church groups. He was also a member of the Kenesaw School Board, director of the Kenesaw Community Development program, president of the cemetery board and a volunteer fireman. He also was a member of the Nebraska Corn Growers Association, a life member of the V.F.W. of Hastings, the Eagles of Hastings, the Southern Hill Country Club and participated on a bowling team in Hastings.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Lilia Lambrecht.
Survivors include: his wife, Sharon; three daughters—Shawn (David) Schultz of Hastings, Sharise (Dan) Scherer of Gothenburg and Shandra (Chad) Uden of Fremont; eight grandchildren—Lindee and Lexie Schultz, Brandon, Kelsey, Ashley, Jakeb Scherer, and Chloe, Chase Uden; twin sisters—Janet (David) Burr of Juniata and Joyce (Pat) Jameson-Landrigan of Minden; numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials are suggested to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, the Kenesaw Cemetery, Kenesaw Public School Foundation Scholarship Fund, and the Hospice House at 7415 Cedar St., Omaha, NE 68124.
