Howard Wolf, 82 - May 14, 2008
Howard E. Wolf, 82, of Eustis, died Saturday, May 10, 2008, at Tempe, AZ.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 16, at the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Eustis. Burial will be at the East Cemetery at Eustis with military honors.
A visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, May 15, at the church.
Wolf was born Oct. 22, 1925, at Eustis, to William and Bertha (Reiker) Wolf. He graduated from Eustis High School in 1942.
Following his graduation, he entered the U.S. Navy serving in World War II. After his discharge in 1946, he returned to Nebraska where he farmed west of Eustis.
In October of 1970, he purchased a grocery store at Eustis, which he owned and operated until his retirement in 1985. Upon his retirement, he moved to Gilbert, AZ.
Wolf was an active member of the Cozad Elks Lodge and the American Legion. He had also been a member of the Eustis Lions Club for over 55 years.
?He enjoyed spending time with his family and shooting blue rock, according to family members. He was also an avid golfer.
?Wolf was preceded in death by: his first wife, Marilyn; his parents, William and Bertha; a brother, Harold.
?Survivors include: his wife, Jo Wolf of Gilbert; two sons—Gregg (Jean) Wolf of Eustis and Rod (Barb) Wolf of Ogallala; two daughters—Sally (Steve) Dunlap of Omaha and Holly (Kelvin) Bartee of Chandler, AZ; a brother, Art (Gladys) Wolf of Gothenburg; two sisters—Wilma Van Salsen and Julia Yardley, both of La Jolla, CA; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.
