Rodney Ronning, 55 - March 19, 2008
Services were held on Tuesday, March 11, at the Berryman Funeral Home Chapel at Cozad with Jeremy Jech officiating. Burial took place at the Fairview Cemetery south of Cozad.
Ronning was born on May 10, 1952, at Sioux Falls, SD, to Conrad and Charlotte (Moen) Ronning. He lived with his foster parents, Merle and Clara Rasmussen, at Beresford, SD, where he graduated from high school.
He attended trade school at Mitchell, SD, where he studied to be an electrician.
On Feb. 19, 1975, he married Justine Parsons at Lexington. The couple made their home in several locations until moving to Gothenburg in 1977, where he worked at Farmland Service Coop.
In 1983, he began Ronning Electric, which he owned and operated until his death.
Following a divorce, he married Donna Ehlers in 1993. He then moved to North Platte in 1999, following their divorce.
?Ronning enjoyed camping, traveling and spending time with friends and family as well as dancing, according to family members.
?He was preceded in death by his foster parents and grandparents, Lillian and Conrad Ronning, Sr.
Survivors include: his son, Kenneth (Tiffany) Ronning of Gothenburg; a daughter, Kristie Ronning of Kearney; his mother, Charlotte Lopez of Yakima, WA; his father, Conrad Ronning of Sargent; sister—Diane (Dave) Harms of Sioux Falls; five grandchildren—Kole, Kaitlyn, Jaidin, Annika and Trey.
A memorial has been established.
