Artis Harper, 74 - August 12, 2009
Services were held on Monday, Aug. 10, at the Bethel Church with the Rev. Dan Reimer officiating. Burial took place at Gaslin Cemetery south of Brady.
Harper was born Aug. 19, 1934, to Louis and Pearl (McClellen) Page at North Platte. She graduated from North Platte High School in 1952.
She was united in marriage on Aug. 24, 1952, to Leonard Harper.
Harper lived her life very involved with her children’s activities including Boy Scouts and Campfire Girls, according to family members.
She was employed with Christian Counseling where she helped youth in the community.
Harper was a member of the Bethel Church and former member of the First Lutheran Church, where she was a Sunday School superintendent, a member of the PTA, and helped form The Helping Hand.
She was preceded in death by: her father, Louis; a brother, Larry Page.
Survivors include: her husband, Leonard of North Platte; her mother, Pearl Page of Brady; eight children—Randall (Annie) Harper of Oakland, OR, Virginia Harper of North Platte, Carol (Scott) Aldrich of Hillsboro, OR, Diane Harper of Tucson, AZ, Vincent (Dianne) Harper, Sherrie Harper and Kent (Lindy) Harper, all of North Platte, and Scott (Kim) Harper of Puyallup, WA; 20 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; a brother, Leon (Helen) Page of Waverly; numerous nieces and nephews.
