Virginia “Gin” Lee Aden, 87, of Roseville, CA, formerly of Gothenburg, died Saturday, Aug. 1, 2009, at her home
A memorial service was held Aug. 15 at the Terraces in Roseville. A graveside service will be held at Gothenburg at a later date to be announced.
Aden and her husband, Mearl Aden, owned and operated Virginia’s Dairy Bar in Gothenburg for over 25 years. She was also employed at Peterson’s Locker and at Jensen’s Jack & Jill for several years.
She moved to Sacramento, CA, in 1986.
Aden enjoyed the company of her children and grandchildren as well as spending winters in Yuma, AZ, and trips to Reno and the Lake Tahoe area, according to family members. She also remained a true Husker fan, never missing a game when it was available in her locale.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Harvard and Ethel (Rainwater) Crawford; her husband, Mearl; her companion of 20 years, Franklin Tabor; brothers—Barney and Trent; a sister, Patty Ann; grandson, David Michael Scheffler; sisters- and brothers-in-law—Erma and Roger Plank and Elva and Albert (Pat) Patterson.
Survivors include: her daughter, Merlynd (Terrence) Scheffler of Antelope, CA; her son, Mike (Staci) Aden of Dixon, CA; granddaughters—Terrilee Esparza of Roseville, and Susan (Matthew) Immenschuh of Citrus Heights; grandsons—Kenneth Scheffler of Palo Alto, CA, Jeremy (Ashley) Crawford of Sacramento, and Josh (Erin) Crawford of San Diego, CA; six great-grandchildren—Jill, Mikaela and Victoria Esparza, Krystal, Jacob and Lucas Immenschuh; sisters—Peg (Glenn) Kinsman of Friend, and Bert (Clarence, deceased) Jonson of Sun City, AZ; sister-in-law, Lola (Trent, deceased) Crawford of Muskogee, OK; step-mother, Violet Crawford of York; step-brothers—Larry (Nancy) and Jay (Kathy) Crawford; numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Virginia “Gin” Aden memorial in care of Valleyridge Foundation (Hospice), 6929 Sunrise Blvd., Suite 180, Citrus Heights, CA 95610.
