Evelyn Rogers, 90 - June 13, 2007
Evelyn “Evie” Irene Rogers, 90, of Gothenburg, formerly of Farnam, died Wednesday, June 6, 2007, at Gothenburg.
Visitation will be held Thursday, June 14, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel at Gothenburg.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, June 15, at 11 a.m. at Eustis West Cemetery with the Rev. Randy Dilts Officiating.
Rogers was born to Roy and Fern Stubblefield, on Dec. 8, 1916, in Frontier County, where she grew up on a farm south of Eustis.
On April 1, 1933, she was united in marriage to Everett Rogers. The couple farmed in the Orafino community until January of 1968. They then sold the farm and moved to Farnam.
Rogers and her husband had no children, however, they helped raise nieces and nephews, and babysat for many friends.
In 1998, they moved to Gothenburg where she resided until her death.
She loved to sew, raise gardens, can fruits and vegetables and share them with others, according to family members. She was always available to lend a hand to help family and friends in need.
?Rogers was preceded in death by: her husband, Everett; a sister, Dorothy Haynes; brothers—Ray, George and Dale Stubblefield.
?Survivors include: her sister-in-law, Doris Stubblefield; nieces and nephews—Larry (Carol) Surber of Lincoln, Jane (Chuck) Lemmert of North Platte, Cherie (Mike) Wilson of Gothenburg, Donna Suchan of Paul, ID, Mike (Sharon) Stubblefield of Wenatchee, WA, Denise (Scott) Gere of Entiat, WA, and Dalette (Al) Hobart of Wenatchee.
Memorials are suggested to the Farnam Fire Department.
