Carolyn Peterson, 67 - May 09, 2007
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the United Methodist Church in Gothenburg with the Rev. Randy Dilts officiating.
Internment will be in the Gothenburg Cemetery.
Peterson was born on Oct. 4, 1939, to Carl William and Cecil Leona (Swayne) Kostman in rural Cozad. She attended rural schools and graduated from Cozad High School in 1956. She was a member of the American Lutheran Church of Cozad.
On Nov. 18, 1956, she married Ray T. Peterson and moved to the farm northeast of Gothenburg. In 1968 the couple moved to Gothenburg.
Peterson worked as a courier for Pathology Services, P.C. for 24 years. She enjoyed music, dancing and cooked many wonderful meals for family, friends and neighbors. She had great compassion for people and animals, family members said.
?She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray, her parents, a brother, Kenneth Kostman and a brother-in-law Harlan Peterson.
?Survivors include: two daughters—Kathy Nelson, Gothenburg and Connie (Joe) Malone, Ogallala; six grandchildren—Janet (Mike) Baldwin, Pacifica Beach, FL; Stacey Parker, Omaha; Jeremy Malone, North Platte; Troy Malone, Paxton; Megan Malone, Kearney; and Jamie Malone, Ogallala; three great-grandchildren—Jacquelynn Baldwin, Trent Scriptor, and Addison Malone; one brother, Keith Kostman, Smith Center, KS; two sisters-in-law—Rose Kostman and Valerie Peterson.
Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society and the United Methodist Church of Gothenburg.
