Matthew Jobman, 49 - May 02, 2007
Matthew Eric Jobman, 49, of Gothenburg, died Saturday, April 28, 2007, at his home, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Memorial services were to be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the American Lutheran Church of Gothenburg with the Rev. Matthew Groenke officiating. Burial will take place at the American Lutheran Cemetery at a later date.
Jobman was born on Aug.13, 1957, to Lester and Francis (Block) Jobman, at Gothenburg. He graduated from Gothenburg High School in 1975 and then attended Hastings Community College, earning a degree in welding.
On Aug. 23, 1986, he married Charlotte Scott at the American Lutheran Church of Gothenburg. To this union, one daughter was born, Erica Lynn.
He had farmed and was employed as a corn seed salesman for Pioneer Seedcorn.
Jobman was a member of the Lodge Brothers breakfast group and the American Lutheran Church where he sung in the choir and was a member of the men’s choirs.
?He enjoyed being a father and spending time with his daughter, Erica, as well as camping, golfing, baseball, softball and bowling, according to family members.
?Jobman is preceded in death by: his grandparents; a niece, Susan Elizabeth; father-in-law, Norris Scott; brother-in-law, Roger Morris.
Survivors include: his wife of 20 years, Charlotte “Scottie” of Gothenburg; daughter, Erica Lynn of the home; his parents, Lester and Francis Jobman; brother, Terry (Nancy) Jobman and children—Andrew, David and Erin, all of Gothenburg; sister, Heidi Jobman of Chappel and her son, Chris Morris of Bozeman, MT; numerous other family and friends.
