Agnes Johnson, 93 - March 14, 2007

Agnes Martha Johnson, 93, of North Platte, formerly of Brady and Gothenburg, died Tuesday, March 6, 2007, at Great Plains Regional Medical Center.
Services were held on Saturday, March 10, at Adams & Swanson Chapel with the Rev. Cathy Cole officiating. Burial was at the Gaslin Cemetery at Brady.
Johnson was born near Brady on May 27, 1913, to John Olaf and Tilda Jungren Hoaglund.
She attended a country school south of Brady through the eighth grade and when her dad passed away when she was 5, she helped her mother with the house work and chores on the farm. She also helped neighbors with their work.
On Sept. 8, 1937, she married Wilbert William Willard Johnson. To this union six children were born. The couple farmed and ranched south of Brady and raised a huge garden, from which they shared with others.
After retirement in 1989, the couple moved to Gothenburg. She and her husband bowled on two leagues, one in North Platte and one in Gothenburg.
Johnson enjoyed playing the piano, crocheting, embroidery, quilting, baking, gardening, dancing, playing cards and especially having visitors to share her baked goods, according to family members. Her greatest enjoyment was being with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends.
?She was preceded in death by: her parents, John and Tilda; her husband, Wilbert; a daughter, Diane Godwin; three sons—Richard, Lyle and Deloit; sisters, Ruby Janeski, Bessie Dovenbarger and Anna Fitzgerald; brothers—Ernest Hoaglund, Earl Hoaglund, Harold Hoaglund and Edwin Hoaglund.
Survivors include: daughters—Catherine (Skip) Spotts of North Platte and Karen (Gilbert) Larson of Curtis; grandchildren—Tony (DeAnn) Larson of Littleton, CO, Teresa (Troy) Greve of Waverly, Mike (Shirley) Godwin of Enid, OK, and Patty (Jason) Nelson of Phoenix, AZ; great-grandchildren—Ryan, Eric, Brooke and Brett Larson of Littleton, CO, Trae and Trev Greve of Waverly, Colby and Taylor Godwin and Jessica and Cameron Bickerstaff, all of Enid, and Tiffany and Alexis Hill and Jordan Nelson, all of Phoenix, AZ.
