Eva Slack, 94 - January 06, 2010
Services were held Jan. 6 at the American Lutheran Church of Gothenburg with the Revs. Matthew Groenke and Larry Viter officiating. Burial was at the Gothenburg Cemetery.
Slack was born Oct. 31, 1915, to Claude and Mary (Pettint) Couture, at Dawson County. She attended schools in Gothenburg.
On April 8, 1937, she married Kenneth Slack at Gothenburg. To this union, two sons were born.
The family resided in Gothenburg where she owned and operated a restaurant and worked as a cook for several years.
In 1972, she and her husband moved to Fort Collins, CO, to be near her sons. While at Fort Collins, Slack owned and operated her own day care. In 1992, she and her husband moved back to Gothenburg.
Slack was a member of the Ladies Aid of the American Lutheran Church.
She enjoyed all her grandchildren and her dogs, according to family members.
Slack was preceded in death by: her husband, Kenneth Donald Slack; brothers—Ralph and Claude Couture; parents, Claude and Mary Couture.
Survivors include: her two sons—Claude (Judy) Slack of Gothenburg, NS Bill (Pat) Slack of Windsor, CO; 11 grandchildren—Cindy, Pam, Rhonda, Mark, Melodi, Kendra, Greg, Jeff, Sherri, Steve and Tracy; 23 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren.
