Barbara Wilson, 77 - January 06, 2010
Barbara Logan Wilson, 77, of Fulton, MO, died Sunday, Dec. 27, 2009, at the Callaway Community Hospital.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
Wilson was born Oct. 17, 1932, at Kansas City, MO, daughter of the late James Logan and Mildred (Fox) Logan.
She graduated from the University of Kansas in 1954, and worked as an advertising manager for the Independent Magazine in Kansas City.
Wilson had traveled to Europe on the Queen Mary and toured Paris, Rome and Switzerland. She was invited to attend a bakery school in Switzerland as a guest of the famous Andre’s Confiserie Suisse in Kansas City.
On Sept. 19, 1964, she was united in marriage to Richard E. Wilson, a 1943 Gothenburg High School graduate.
She taught at the Fulton Preschool for 25 years. Many children throughout the Fulton community loved her, according to family members, and she was known as the “Puppet Lady.” She also worked at the YMCA children’s program for five years, and traveled annually with her family to attend the YMCA Camp in Estes Park, CO.
Wilson was a member of Friends of the Churchill Memorial, PEO and Chi Omega at Kansas University.
Survivors include: her husband, Richard Wilson, formerly of Gothenburg; a daughter, Susan G. Wilson of Kansas City; a son, Christopher Wilson of Colorado; two granddaughters—Jessica and Kaitlin Wilson of Columbia, MO; a brother, Howard (Marie) Logan and of Wichita, KS; several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Garrett Animal Shelter or to a church of donor’s choice.
