Jean Mann, 75 - January 27, 2010
Jean LaVere Mann, 75, of Omaha, formerly of Gothenburg, died Monday, Jan. 25, 2010, at Omaha.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Viter officiating. Interment will follow in the Gothenburg Cemetery.
Mann was born Nov. 13, 1934, to Walter and Myrtle (Lindholm) Anderson, at Arnold. She graduated from Gothenburg High School.
She lived in the Gothenburg area the majority of her life until moving to Omaha in 2008.
Mann worked as a waitress, secretary, bookkeeper and a nurses aide.
She enjoyed dancing, playing the piano, sewing, crocheting and word search puzzles as well as old-time country music, according to family members.
Mann was preceded in death by: her parents, Walter and Myrtle Anderson; a brother, William “Bill” Anderson; a sister, Geraldine Woodward; sister-in-law, Louise Anderson; brother-in-law, Ray Meysing.
Survivors include: her daughters—Marla (Roger) Kniewel of Omaha, Laurie Coughlin of Carson City, NV, Melissa (Layne) Cark of Logan, IA, and Launa (Graeme) Brinton of Carmichael, CA; sons—Larry (Lynn) Mann and Mark Mann, all of Maple Falls, WA; sisters—Carol (Keith) Aden of Gothenburg and DeAnn Meysing; 19 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association, 105 Apache Dr. Lexington, NE 68850.
