Robert Auld, 61 - October 12, 2011
Robert “Bob” J. Auld, 61, of Geneva, originally of Gothenburg, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2011, at Cedar County, IA.
Services took place at the American Lutheran Church on Monday, Oct. 17, with the Revs. Larry Viter and Matthew Groenke officiating. Burial was at the Fort McPherson National Cemetery at Maxwell.
Auld was born Aug. 20, 1950, at Norfolk, son of John Ralph and Eunice Elsie (Shipton) Auld.
He grew up in Gothenburg and attended school, graduating from Gothenburg High School. He has been a lifetime resident of Nebraska.
Auld served his country with the United States Army from 1970 to 1972.
He was united in marriage to Sharon Schulz on July 29, 1973, at the American Lutheran Church in Gothenburg. To this union, four children were born.
Auld was employed as a truck driver for Johnsrud Transportation Inc.
He was a member of Faith Chapel. The most important things in his life were his family and prayer, said family members.
?Auld enjoyed farming and community service as a school board member and helping the Military Honor Guard in Gothenburg.
?He was preceded in death by: his father, J.R. (John Ralph) Auld; his mother, Eunice Elsie Auld; sister-in-law, Corrine Auld; father-in-law, Milton Schulz.
?Survivors include: his wife, Sharon Auld of Geneva; his son, Isaac Lee (Cynthia) Auld of Geneva; three daughters—Sadie Auld (fiancé Brad) of York, Emily (Pat) Rumery of Friend and Josie (Lance) Schram of York; his brother, Bill Auld of Gothenburg; two sisters—Janette Kauffman of Gothenburg and JoAnne (Duane) Gorsuch of Salida, CO; 11 grandchildren—Lance, Kaydee, Riley, Cloe, Tristin, Taylee, Michael, Tobi, Zoe, Summer and Londyn.
