Evalyn Keiser, 92 - October 19, 2010
Evalyn Booth Keiser, 92, of Gothenburg passed away Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011, at Hilltop Estates in Gothenburg.
Services were conducted at the First United Methodist Church at 3 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 21, with Dr. Jeff Thurman officiating. Interment will take place at Fort McPherson National Cemetery at Maxwell at a later date.
Keiser was born May 25, 1919, to Charles and Edith (Lange) Booth at Pine Bluffs, WY. She graduated from Gothenburg High School in 1937.
On June 4, 1939, she married Arthur Koester at her parents’ home in Gothenburg. To this union, two children were born. Her husband passed away on March 4, 1983.
She was united in marriage to Lester Keiser on Dec. 28, 1985, at the United Methodist Church in Gothenburg. He passed away on Sept. 23, 1990.
Keiser managed a number of rental properties over the years. She was a past president of the United Methodist Women and the American Legion Auxiliary, and was active in her church and helped design the new kitchen at the United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed home entertaining as well as sewing, baking, dancing and playing bridge, according to family members. She belonged to the same bridge club and supper club since 1945.
Keiser was preceded in death by: her parents, Charles and Edith; husband, Arthur Koester; husband, Lester Keiser; three brothers—Gifford, Kenneth and Victor “Bud” Booth; two sisters—Charlotte McIntosh and Alice Herman; step-grandson, Andrew Koch.
Survivors include: her daughter, Mary Magana of Ignacio, CO; her son, Randall (Judy) Koester of Marshfield, MO; two granddaughters—Stacy (Tony) Jeffries of Gothenburg and Christi (Tim) Koester of Lincoln; two grandsons—Matt (Amber) Magana of Dannebrog and Todd (Jamie) Koester of Kearney; 11 great-grandchildren; three step-children and their families—Melody Keiser-Koch of Colorado Springs, CO, Pete (Shelli) Keiser of Pilger and Yancey Keiser of Lincoln; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Memorials are suggested to the United Methodist Church.
