Doris Hergenrader, 80 - December 15, 2011
Doris D. Hergenrader, 80, of North Platte, formerly of Gothenburg, passed away Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011, at her home.
Memorial services took place on Monday, Dec. 19, at the First United Methodist Church with Dr. Douglas A. Delp officiating, and Carpenter Memorial Chapel in charge of arrangements. Inurnment was at Ft. McPherson National Cemetery at Maxwell.
Hergenrader was born July 30, 1931, to Elmer and Eva (Keiper) Hilton at Farnam. She grew up in the Cozad and Gothenburg areas and graduated in 1949 from Gothenburg High School.
On July 22, 1951, she was united in marriage to George J. Hergenrader at Cozad. The couple resided at Cozad until 1969, then moved to North Platte where her husband worked for Northwestern Public Service and she was employed as a secretary for numerous offices and agencies.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, past member of Mrs. Jaycee’s, Business and Professional Women and of BPO Does of Cozad.
Hergenrader loved her family and friends and was a vibrant person, never meeting a stranger, said family members.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Elmer and Eva; a brother, Leonard Hilton.
Survivors include: her husband, George of North Platte; three children—Karen (Steve) Lyne of McCook, Brenda (Bill) Faust and Brian (Becky) Hergenrader, all of North Platte; eight grandchildren—Greg, Jodi, Shawn, Becca, Bret, Kate, Cory and Melissa; eleven great-grandchildren; two brothers—Orville Hilton of Gothenburg and Marvin (Carol) Hilton of Kearney; a sister, June (Jerry) Walker of North Platte.
A memorial has been established.
