On April 27, 1941, she married Paul Grabenstein. They resided on Dan Grabenstein’s farm stead southwest of Eustis until their retirement, Dec. 31, 1979. They moved to Eustis where Clara lived until moving to Stone Hearth Estates in December of 2007. As life partners, Paul and Clara enjoyed the blessings of raising their family: Gene, Janet, Lyle and Phyllis, on their farm-ranch.
Grabenstein enjoyed the fine art of homemaking and was known for her hospitality. She loved to garden and tend her roses, attended concerts, sang in choirs, sewed clothes for herself and family and loved to travel.
She was baptized, confirmed and married at St John’s Lutheran Church in Eustis, where she was active in the Mary Martha Bible Study, Serving Circles and quilting for Lutheran World Relief. She assisted many youth as a leader for the Rolling Meadows 4-H Club of Frontier County. She was also active in the Nebraska Cowbelles, and Stockgrowers Association, Petals Garden Club and The Red Hats Society.
Her delight was in the lives of her children and their activities, the family said. She was especially proud of her nine grandchildren attending their games and concerts. She loved holding her eight great-grandbabies. They all loved her homemade pretzels, according to the family.
