Sandra Sherard, 64 - February 22, 2012
Sandra Kay Sherard, 64, of Gothenburg passed away Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2012, at the Gothenburg Memorial Hospital.
Services will be conducted at the American Lutheran Church of Gothenburg on Saturday, March 3, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Matthew Groenke officiating.
Sherard was born Feb. 19, 1948, in Grand Island at St. Francis Hospital to Frank (Bud) and Dolores (Hadenfeldt) Williams.
She was baptized as an infant at the Zion Lutheran Church of North Shelton, and confirmed in 1962 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Shelton.
Sherard was a graduate of Shelton Public School in 1966, and a graduate of the Grand Island School of Business.
On July 21, 1973, she was united in marriage to Robert L. Sherard at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
She was employed with Peterson & Peterson Freight Co., and later at the Grand Island Collection Agency. When she and her husband moved to Gothenburg, she was employed with the Gothenburg Memorial Hospital until retiring in 2004.
Sherard was proceeded in death by: her father, Frank in 1972; son-in-law, Dwayne Morrison.
Survivors include: her husband, Bob; two daughters—Tracy (Randy) Underwood of North Platte, and Kim Morrison of Gothenburg; a son, Robert, Jr. (Judy) of North Platte; her mother, Dolores Williams of Shelton; Susanne Carlson and Sheila Williams, both of Grand Island, and Stephanie (Steven) Haase of Norfolk; eight grandchildren—Taylor, Logan, Stone and Austin Underwood, Scott, Emily and Jacob Morrison, and step-granddaughter, Jordan Olnhausen; step-grandchild, Katie (John) Underwood-Wilson; great-granddaughter, Ireland Wilson.
Memorials are suggested to the American Lutheran Church of Gothenburg.
