Jeffrey Clark, 59 - June 06, 2012
Jeffrey Lee Clark, 59, died at his home near Brady on June 6, 2012, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 10, at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel, Gothenburg with the family present 2-4 p.m.
Services will be held at First United Methodist Church at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 11, with Pastor Ken Sawyer and Dr. Jeff Thurman officiating.
Interment will follow in the Peckham Cemetery, Gothenburg.
Clark was born June 15, 1952, in Gothenburg, son of Dale and Betty Lou (Miller) Clark.
He grew up in the Brady area and lived there all of his life. He graduated from Brady High School and Mid-Plains Community College.
Clark married Laurel J. Schulz on Sept. 7, 1974, at the American Lutheran Church in Gothenburg. To this union three daughters were born—Shannon, Sarah and Erin.
He was the treasurer of Banner Methodist Church for over 30 years. He was active with Gideon’s International and the Pony Express Re-Ride. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, church and Bible study, along with farming and ranching, family members said.
Clark was preceded in death by: his mother Betty Lou Clark, grandparents James S. and Sara Clark, grandparents Herman and Freda Miller, father-in-law Milton Schulz.
Surviving are: wife Laurie Clark of Brady; daughters—Shannon (Paul) Peterson, Sarah M. Baker, Erin (Jake) Fairley; six grandchildren—Savannah and Emma Peterson, Josie, Jordan, Hunter, and Riley Baker, and Baby Fairley; father—Dale (Ardith) Clark; brother Rickie J (Coleen) Clark; sister Susan (Randy) Schroeder; four step-brothers—Michael (Heidi) Sheets, Chris (Sandra) Sheets, John (Jeannie) Sheets, Clint (Christy) Sheets; sisters—Patty (Ike) Miller, Joyce (Rick) Bulke; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends.
