Electa Thompson, 77 - May 20, 2009
Electa Frances (Ferguson) Thompson, 77, of Aurora died Saturday, May 2, 2009, at the Aurora Memorial Hospital.
Thompson was born on March 29, 1932, to Lewis and Elsie (Vogler) Ferguson at Ansley. She graduated from Ansley High School in 1950.
Following her high school graduation, she was employed at the Safeway store in Broken Bow.
In 1952, she was united in marriage to Charles A. Neal and moved to South Dakota. To this union, a son was born. Her husband passed away in 1954, and she and her son returned to Ansley.
On Oct. 3, 1955, she married Charlie Thompson. To this union, three children were born, and she received four step-children.
Her career in life was her husband and children, according to family members. She also taught CPR for many years, was an EMT for the Ansley Volunteer Squad and enjoyed working the Bloodmobile, according to family members.
Thompson was a member of the Ansley First Baptist Church, the American Baptist Women, Ansley Women’s Club, Extension Club and Job’s Daughters.
She made her home at the Hamilton Manor in Aurora for the past four years and enjoyed growing roses and irises, said family members.
Thompson was preceded in death by: her parents, Lewis and Elsie; an infant son; her first husband, Charles Neal; her second husband, Charles B. Thompson; brothers—Virgil, Ivan, Theodore, Kenneth and Vernon “Pete”; sisters—Marjorie Coble and Norma Hartford.
?Survivors include: her children—Roger (Susann) Thompson of Kansas City, MO, Dana (Sheri) Thompson of Aurora, Frances (Steve) Linegar of Gothenburg, and Kim (Ed) Schulte of Ansley; step-children—Charles “Bill” (Carol) Thompson of Fort Collins, CO, Russell (Jeanne) Thompson of Urbandale, IA, Barbara (Richard) Abel of Montrose, CO, and Mary Jane (James) Mitera of Hastings; sisters-in-law—Althea Ferguson, Donita Ferguson and Dorothy Province, all of Broken Bow, Marlene Rempel of Buhler, KS, and Betty Thompson of Ansley; a brother-in-law, Jack Hartford of Leeton, MO; 12 grandchildren—Tiffany Holm, Stephanie Ricley, Josh Thompson, Dawn Pennington, Riley Thompson, Cerissa Linegar, Joel Schulte, Vanessa Linegar, Brittney Schulte, Dillon Linegar, Drew Thompson and Carter Thompson; two great-granddaughters—Hayden Ricley and Emerald Pennington; numerous nieces and nephews.
