Elaine Joyce Grasz, 45 - October 25, 2012Elaine Joyce Grasz, 45, of Brady passed away Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, as a result of an auto accident near Maxwell.
Services will be conducted at the Brady High School Gym on Monday, Nov. 12, at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Ken Sawyer officiating. Interment will be at the Svea Dal Cemetery at Brady.
A visitation will take place at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel at Gothenburg on Sunday, Nov. 11, from 2 to 8 p.m. with family present from 2 to 4 p.m.
Grasz was born Feb. 12, 1967, at Gothenburg, the daughter of Dale and Kathryn (Duffey) Hild.
She grew up on a family farm north of Brady and attended Wild Horse Valley country school through the eighth grade, graduating from Brady High School with the Class of 1985.
Grasz attended Chadron State College for a year then graduated with an associate’s degree in business administration/accounting in the spring of 1997 from Mid-Plains Community College at North Platte.
On Aug. 8, 1987, she was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart and best friend, Terry Allen Grasz, at Svea Dal Covenant Church. To this union, two sons were born—Tyrel Austin on Nov. 21, 1993, and Tad Elliot on Aug. 16, 2001.
When she and her husband first married, they resided at Chappell, then on a ranch south of North Platte before moving back to Brady, where they have lived since. At the time of her death, she was employed as a bookkeeper in North Platte.
Grasz gave her life to Jesus as a teen, and she and her husband were members of the Svea Dal Covenant Church of Wild Horse Valley. She was active with the church, especially involved with the music.
?She was also involved with Brady Public School and helped organize and participate in the youth sports programs. She was a member of the Brady Lions Club and was currently serving as president. Anything her boys were participating in received her full attention and she was always willing to do what needed to be done in the community, according to family members.
Grasz was preceded in death by: her grandparents, Earl and Ada Duffey and Phillip and Elva Hild; mother-in-law, Dixie Grasz.
Survivors include: her husband, Terry; parents, Dale and Kathy Hild; her sons—Tyrel and Tad; brothers—Steve (Gerri) and Keith (Brandi); a sister, Jeaninne (Duane) Davis; nieces—Autumn and Adrianna Hild, Robin and Reanna Davis and Bryleigh Hild; nephews—Dalton Mays, Dewey (Jaimee), Cody and Brandon (Amber) Davis; her father-in-law, Vic Grasz; brothers-in-law—Travis (Pam) and Troy Grasz; sister-in-law, Kiley; special uncles, aunts and her “Buzzin Cuzzins” as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
