Connie J. Taylor, 67 - December 23, 2012Connie J. Taylor, 67, of Bellwood died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012, at her home.
A memorial service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 28, at Gass Haney Funeral Home with the Rev. Patrick Sparling officiating.
Taylor was born June 18, 1945, at Council Bluff, IA, to Jack and Helen (Hurd) Graham. She attended school in Council Bluffs until her mother passed away, then moved to Columbus to live with her aunt and uncle. She graduated from Columbus High School in 1962.
She was united in marriage to M.W. “Bill” Goedeken on Aug. 4, 1962, at Christ Lutheran Church. The couple later divorced.
On Dec. 8, 2008, she married Bob Taylor of North Bend at Las Vegas, NV.
Connie Taylor was employed with B-D for 24 years in quality control. She was an outstanding horse woman who loved riding and showing horses, according to family members. She was a “mom” to everyone and a “grammy” to many.
She was a long-time 4-H leader and a room mother who was loved and respected by all, family said. There was never a person or animal who left her home hungry. She was also a trusted and faithful friend.
Taylor was preceded in death by: her parents, Jack and Helen Graham; a brother, Rod Graham; aunt and uncle, Cliff and Dorothy Hurd; “mom,” Alvina Aerni.
Survivors include: her husband, Bob Taylor of Bellwood; her daughters—Gretchen Goedeken of Columbus and Billie Jo Schrad (Shawn Boyle) of Brady; son, Michael “Mick” (Suzy) Goedeken of Madison; stepsons—Robert J. (Kelly) Taylor of Bellevue, Kevin J. (Holly) Taylor of Dallas, TX, and Todd (Beth) Taylor of Fredericksburg, VA; four grandchildren—Justin Schrad of Columbus, Jessica Schrad of Maxwell, Michayla and Micah Goedeken of Madison; five step-grandchildren—Michaela Taylor of Omaha, Kirsten Taylor of Lincoln, Chase Taylor of Houston, TX, Marissa Taylor of Lubbock, TX, and Kevin Taylor of Fredericksburg; a brother, Jack (Joanne) Graham of Council Bluffs; and M.W. “Bill” Goedeken.
