Alice Boyd, 83 - December 26, 2012

Alice May Boyd, 83, of Gothenburg passed away Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012, at Stone Hearth Estates in Gothenburg.
Services will take place at the American Lutheran Church on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Tom Wilson officiating. Interment will be at the Gothenburg Cemetery.
A visitation will be conducted at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel of Gothenburg on Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013, from 4 to 8 p.m.
Boyd was born Feb. 18, 1929, at Gothenburg, the daughter of Jurgen and Minnie (Heuer) Heidebrink. She graduated from Gothenburg High School in 1946.
On Nov. 9, 1947, she was united in marriage to Frank Boyd. The couple resided and worked in Lexington until March 1, 1949, when they moved to her family farm north of Gothenburg. They resided on the farm for 60 years until they moved into town to live at Stone Hearth Estates.
Boyd attended St. John’s Lutheran Church, and later the American Lutheran Church, and was a member of the Hanna Circle.
She and her husband enjoyed getting together with family and enjoyed square dancing, according to family members.
Boyd was preceded in death by: her husband, Frank F. Boyd; a great-grandson, Cain; her parents, Jurgen and Minnie Heidebrink; four brothers—Earl, Walter, Lester and Marvin Heidebrink; two sisters—Alma Heidebrink and Vera Geiken.
Survivors include: her four sons—Robert (Lisa) Boyd of Hastings, David (Cynthia) Boyd of Lexington, Thomas (Janet) Boyd of Overton and Douglas (Mimi Schneider) Boyd of Lincoln; grandchildren—Nichole (Erik) Wetjen, Leilani Boyd, Zachary Boyd, Sarah (Cesar) Hernandez, Matthew (Sara) Boyd and Shawn (Kendra) Boyd; 13 great-grandchildren.
