Two slow starts bring two losses for girls in MCAC

It certainly wasn’t the conference tournament that Brady girls coach Lance Arterburn hoped his girls would have.

Going in as the second seed with a first-round bye in the opening round of the eastern half of the Mid-Nebraska Athletic Conference, Arterburn planned to be playing in the championship on Saturday. As it was, though, the Eagles got an early out after losing 35-48 to Ansley-Litchfield and then falling to Hyannis in the consolation round 62-48.

“We started slow both games,” the coach said. “We haven’t been getting out of the gate very well, but we’re playing well in the second half. One way or another, we’re going to have to keep working to find an answer to the slow start.”
