Brady Eagles sending 11 to state track

SUTHERLAND—The Brady Eagles came into the track season with high expectations.

Several of the athletes took a big step on Wednesday toward reaching their goals at the D-10 district meet in Sutherland.

The girls scored 95 points as a team en route to second place. Behind only Mullen with 153 points.

One of the many state qualifiers who will make a return trip to Omaha is sophomore Emery Swan. Swan had one success after another in 2016 and Wednesday was no exception. However, her medals didn’t come easy.

“Emery had to work really hard to get second place in the 200,” coach Rich Britten said. “She was in third with about 50 yards to go. However, it ended up being her best time.”
