Wacky weather weekend

DRIFTS OF HAIL: A deep drift of hail remained Sunday morning in the hills south of Brady where Jeffrey and Palmer roads meet.

The hail had piled up on roads and in this pasture ravine so deep the cattle didn’t want anything to do with it. Gravel roads south of Brady have taken a hit over the last couple of weeks. With soil saturated, water gushed out of the hills Friday night leaving deep gullies along some county roads and washing over others. Flags scattered along several county roads, including Banner, still marked the washouts Sunday morning where runoff water caused damage. Rain totals from the Friday night storm varied across the area from nearly 6 inches southeast of Brady to 3.5 inches straight south and less than an inch in town
