Honoring America’s veterans

SALUTE TO VETERANS: The 43rd Army Band of the Nebraska National Guard stopped in Gothenburg June 28 for an evening concert in the Gothenburg High School performing arts center. Band members played several patriotic songs and others, such as music from the movie “Far and Away” and Glenn Miller tunes. At the end of the performance, the band played songs from each division of the military while veterans in the audience and family members stood for their branch. The band is under the direction of Chief Warrant Officer 3 Brian Anderson of Tekamah, who is pictured in a salute. During his 29 years of directing the band, Anderson said he thought it was the first time the band had performed in Gothenburg. To view more photos, click on “Photos” in the navigation bar.
