Teammates helping TeamMates

Renewing friendships and rasing money, all while getting to play at one of the best golf courses in America.

Wild Horse Golf Club hosted the annual Adrian Fiala Memorial Golf Tournament. Nebraska sports greats came together to share stories, sign autographs and raise funds for Gothenburg’s TeamMates mentoring program.

Lynnette Stevens, TeamMates coordinator in Gothenburg, said the event is important.

“We get nearly 90% of our funding for the year from this tournament,” Stevens said. “We are grateful that all of the legends are willing to help us out.”

Fiala’s goal was to give former players a chance to get together, Fiala’s Husker football broadcast partner Jim Rose said. Rose is now the programming director at KFAB radio in Omaha after a six-year stint as the “Voice of the Huskers.”
