Swedes sweep up the Dusters

HOLDREGE—On a warm, breezy evening Gothenburg kicked off it’s 2017 football season on the road in Holdrege with a 20-13 victory. There was one major question that was finally answered: who would be the Swedes’ starting quarterback? Maguire Bartlett, in his first varsity start of his career, got the nod.

“I felt great. A little nervous at first, but then got the jitters out and played as a team and won the game,” stated Bartlett. “I’m getting more comfortable, throwing everyday at practice and feel a lot more confident.”

Gothenburg had a total of 276 yards for the game with218 of them coming on the ground.

Bartlett was the leading rusher from the QB position with 81 yards. The Swedes used a plethora of running backs. Brennan Seitsinger led the way as he carried the ball six times for 58 yards and a touchdown.
