Educator joins Gothenburg Public School staff
Age: 30
Subject: Kindergarten
Education: Graduated Coleridge Community School, 1998; received a degree in elementary education with endorsements in kindergarten and early childhood from the University of South Dakota, 2005.
Experience: Taught in the Primary Learning Center at Beadle Elementary School in Yankton, taught kindergarten and preschool at East Catholic Elementary in Bow Valley, and was a substitute teacher.
Family: Husband, Chris, and four children: Dawson, 11; Kenzie, 8; Kylar, 6; and Drew, 3.
Why did you want to teach at Gothenburg Public Schools: “My husband and I knew how great the community was because we have family here. I felt this would be a great place to continue my teaching career.”
Her story: Ever since I was a little girl, I dreamed of becoming a teacher. I had many great teachers that had a positive influence in my life. I can only hope to have the same impact on my students.
Hobbies: Scrapbooking, going for walks and spending time outside and hanging out with family.
