Clinic takes shape
STEEL SKELETON: About 40% of the steel skeleton in an 18,000 square-foot doctor’s clinic, under construction at Gothenburg Memorial Hospital, is complete, according to Mike Millo, project supervisor of Sampson Construction, the general contractor. Millo said 90% of the steel in the $2.9 million building should be up by Friday. Workers will then start putting up exterior walls. Rain in May and June delayed the end of project by about three weeks, he said, noting that Dec. 30 is the new date for substantial completion. After digging the basement, Millo said workers had to replace wet soil with dry soil and battle erosion to keep the hole structurally safe for working conditions.
