WOMAN injured: Patti Herndon, of rural Gothenburg, was injured last Friday morning after striking the back of a trailer on Highway 30, about two miles east of Gothenburg. She suffered a broken leg and cuts to her face and was taken by the local rescue squad to Gothenburg Memorial Hospital.
Dawson County Sheriff Office officials said Herndon was driving a 2005 Buick LaCrosse that ran into a trailer, being pulled by a Horizon Ag pickup, that had slowed to turn north on Road 413. The 2007 Chevy pickup was driven by Dalton Riedell, 19, of Brady, who was uninjured. Officials said Herndon said she didn’t see any trailer lights or a blinker. Damage to the trailer was estimated at $200 and Herndon’s vehicle was a loss. Officials said air bags in both vehicles didn’t deploy. Neither driver was wearing a seat belt. Heavy fog was in the area last Friday morning.
