17 BHS students will graduate Saturday
Seventeen students will receive their high school diplomas during commencement exercises at Brady Public Schools Saturday at 4 p.m.
The program will begin with an invocation by junior Matt Litzenberger and will include speeches by the valedictorian and salutatorian.
A variety of scholarships, including the first Ruth Bliss Memorial Scholarship, will be awarded to class members before diplomas are presented by superintendent Bill Porter, principal Bruce Hird and school board president Lisa Diehl.
Entertainment includes a special musical tribute to the parents from the seniors, as well as a video presentation of the class.
Members of the 2012 graduating class are Lincoln Blede, Maggie Burke, Sawyer Burke, Tyler Egenberger, Tyrel Grasz, Ryan Kleinow, Tyler Kleinow, Shelby McClellen, Russel Miller, Micah Most, Thomas Palmer, Justin Parker, Ryan Porter, Megan Polt, Jacob Warren, Courtney Widick and Levi Widick.
Class officers are Maggie Burke, president; Tyler Egenberger, vice president; Megan Polt, secretary; Micah Most, treasurer.
The class colors are orange, purple and silver. The class chose a tulip as the flower.
The 2012 class motto is an anonymous quote, “Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit; wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.”
They have selected the class song, “Tattoos on This Town” by Jason Aldean.
Zach Mann, Marc Kramer-Davis, Brittney Christophersen and Molly Hannon will serve as junior class attendants. Ushers are Bryley Roper, Josh Boon, Dakota Terry and Haley Frederickson.
