Parking preparation
STREET PARKING: Construction of angled parking along Avenue I is making progress. Gothenburg Public School is adding about 38 parking stalls along the street to make up for losing about 52 stalls when the high school lot is restriped from perpendicular to angled parking.
“The architects have estimated that we will have 198 parking stalls as compared to the current 212,” superintendent Mike Teahon said. The Paulsen Inc. bid on the project was $67,500 for the paving. It cost about an additional $5,000 to move a sprinkler line. Striping, which was already planned, was estimated at $5,000 for the old lot.
