HOT WORK: Workers from Wayne Dowhower Const. Inc. of North Platte poured half of the floor of a 130x90 foot storage and warehouse building west of Central Nebraska Public Power & Irrigation District at 4 a.m. Monday. The second half was to be poured Tuesday morning to accomodate a steel building that will be shipped to the site. Cement block walls have started going up next to Central’s existing building which will be a new shop/metal fabrication/wash bay addition. Tom Benson, project superintendent, said work began in mid May but was delayed because of a wait for shipment of building materials. Benson said he expects both structures to be enclosed by winter with completion set for the spring of 2013. The area around the buildings will also be paved. Pictured, the crew chalks the floor in the hot noon sun. The concrete will later be cut to control cracking.
