Cozad meet gets Swedes on track

COZAD—The first outdoor competition of the season at the Cozad Triangular on March 26 gave Gothenburg participants a chance to see where they stand in their individual events.

Swede coach Steve Reeves said the meet gives him a chance to put kids on the track and in field events to establish marks and give everyone a baseline.

Since entries are not limited to the traditional three, Reeves said it gives even first-time competitors a chance to see what they can do.

Event winners for the girls included Amanda Kowalewski in the triple jump, Siera Schwanz in the pole vault and Emily Franzen in the discus.

Roy Slack earned a pair of seconds for the boys in the shot and discus while the 4x100 relay team of Connor Schwanz, Eric Cole, Braeden Brundage and Matt Bruntz were also second.
