Glen Rosentrater, 82 - June 12, 2013

Glen Rosentrater, 82, of Arnold passed away Wednesdayday, June 12, 2013, surrounded by family and friends at the Callaway Hospital.
Services will take place at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 17, at the Tallin Church, south of Arnold on Highway, with the Rev. Gene Purcell officiating. Burial will be at the Arnold Cemetery with military honors by the American Legion Post No. 130 and VFW Post N. 6157.
A visitation will be conducted at the Arnold Funeral Home on Sunday, June 16, from 2 to 7 p.m. with family present from 5 to 7 p.m.
Rosentrater was born March 15, 1931, at Arnold. He graduated from Arnold High School, and met his wife Ruth Woodward while on a double date with his brother, Paul, and later wife Nola Leach, also from Callaway.
Throughout their nearly 60 years of marriage, Rosentrater and his wife resided south of Arnold on a farm, except for two years while he served with the U.S. Army.
In the mid 1980s, he began driving the school bus for the Arnold School District and continued for 25 years.
Rosentrater was a loving husband, dad, grandfather and great-grandfather who loved his family and a challenging career of farming, according to family members.
His was involved as an elder at the Tallin Church, showing hospitality to visiting missionary families and home Bible studies.
Rosentrater was preceded in death by: his parents, Albert and Agnes Rosentrater; sister-in-law, Nola Rosentrater.
Survivors include: his wife, Ruth; brother, Paul; his legacy of three children, a daughter, Sandra (Rob) Mandeville, and sons—Craig (Jo) and John (Jerolyn); five grandchildren—Ryan and Kari Grigg, Lucas Rosentrater, Amy and Joe Buehler, and Claire and Alexander Rosentrater; five great-grandchildren.
