Norman Lambertus, 76 - December 09, 2013

Norman “Norm” Lee Lambertus, 76, of Gothenburg passed away and went to be with his Lord on Monday, Dec. 9, 2013, at Eddyville.
Memorial services were conducted on Friday, Dec. 13, at the Zion Lutheran Church of Gothenburg with the Rev. Larry Viter officiating. Inurnment will take place at the Gothenburg Cemetery at a later date.
Lambertus was born Nov. 13, 1937, to Jess and Hilda (Jobman) Lambertus Hough at Gothenburg. He attended Gothenburg Public Schools, graduating in 1956.
Upon graduation, he worked various jobs in the area including at hay mills, as a farms salesman, as a meat cutter and sered in the National Guard. He also resided at both Colorado and California doing various jobs.
Upon his return to Gothenburg, he owned/operated the Bar W Lounge for about 30 years until he retired due to health reasons.
On July 6, 1993, he married Sally (Mettenbrink) Hall at Lexington. The couple resided at Gothenburg where he ran the bar and his wife worked at Tenneco and helped DJ, promo and work at Bar W part time.
Lambertus was an avid football and sports fan as well as fishing, playing cards, darts and playing pool, according to family members.
He was a caring person who never turned down helping others if he could in any way, family said. He will be missed by all and especially his dog, Prince II, the family said.
He was also active with the American Poolplayers Association and was on numerous leagues, winning awards and trips.
Lambertus was preceded in death by his parents, Jess and Hilda.
Survivors include: his wife, Sally L. Lambertus; two sons—Bruce Lambertus and Rick (Jodee Haugh) Lambertus, all of Gothenburg; four daughters—Melinda (Mike) LaFond of Bakersfield, CA, Louise (Mark) Barnett of Newbury Park, CA, Lisa (Gary Hunt) Harris of Kingman, AZ, and Jessica (Ryan) Bollig of Eddyville; three step-daughters—Chelsey Hall and Heather (Dan Heinemann) Strickland of Cozad, and Tami (Todd) Ekart of Sidney; his father-in-law, Joseph Mettenbrink of Summerville, SC; sister-in-law, Val (Brad) Duff of Summerville; brother-in-law, Joey Mettenbrink of Omaha; 16 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
