James Houchin, 34 - July 02, 2014James Michael Houchin, 34, of Gothenburg died Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at Gothenburg.
Services were conducted at the American Lutheran Church on Tuesday, July 8, with the Revs. Jon Mapa and Eric Most officiating. Burial was at the Gothenburg Cemetery.
Houchin was born March 3, 1980, at Cozad, son of Michael and Pamela (Warner) Houchin. He attended school and graduated from Gothenburg High School in 1998.
On July 15, 2000, he was united in marriage to Mia Zysset at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Eustis. To this union, three children were born. His family and church were important to him, according to family members.
He was employed with both Mike’s Enterprises and Mike’s Sanitation over the years.
Houchin loved motorcycles, tattoos, heavy metal music and his dog, Jax, though his pride and joy were his kids, said family members. He also enjoyed writing and drawing.
?He was preceded in death by: his grandmother, Lorraine Warner; his mother, Pamela Mary Houchin; an infant in October of 2009; cousins—Chris Metzger and Shawn Crites.
?Survivors include: his wife, Mia Houchin; his daughters—Mina Manon and Ada Frances; a son, Ami James; his father, Michael Houchin; a brother, Travis (Mindy Lewis) Houchin; grandparents—Arthur and Josephine Houchin and Ben Warner; mothers and fathers-in-law—Kim and Miriam Stratton and Dale Zysset; uncles—Lonnie Warner, Brad Warner and William Houchin; aunts—Patricia Stevens, Linda Rodine, Rita Fiese and Cindy Crites; numerous cousins.
Memorials are suggested to the family to be applied to an educational fund for his children.
