Donna Dee Tinkham Dudley, 83, of Gothenburg passed away Thursday, April 2, 2015.
A prayer service will take place on Thursday, April 9 at 7 p.m. at the St. Paul United Methodist Church Chapel, 1144 M St., in Lincoln.
Memorial services will be at the St. Paul UMC Sanctuary at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 10.
She was born at Alexandria, daughter of Harold and Hazel McNally Tinkham.
Dudley had earned three master’s degrees over her lifetime in nutrition, English and divinity. She was employed as a home Extension agent, an English and social studies teacher and a United Methodist clergy.
She had married Merle Dudley and was widowed at age 44. She raised five children, went back to college, and then on to seminary.
Dudley had served five congregations including North Loup, Elba, Cotesfield, Atkinson and Amelia, and was the 1998 Nebraska Merit Mother of the Year.
She lived a full-to-over-flowing life, according to family members. Her passions focused on education, quality family and friend time as well as reading, cooking, writing, card playing, note card writing, late night country car rides, talking and listening. She blessed people near and far, spreading light and love to all.
?Dudley also knew good art and wished she could produce it, family said. She was tone deaf and let everyone know it. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her, the family said.
?Her family included: her parents, Harold and Hazel McNally Tinkham; husband, Merle Dudley; her children—David, Steve, Paul, Roger and Tricia; siblings—Mary Jo Spigelmyer and Tom Tinkham; sisters- and brother-in-law—Marilyn Whitmore, Larry Spigelmyer and Mary Tinkham; daughters- and sons-in-law—Torey, Lori, Kerry, Kayleen and John; grandchildren—Jacob, Jordan, Quentin, L.J., Cameron, Paul, Anneli, Susan, Ellen, Connor, Jack, Hannah, Bethany, Will, Alex, Elaine, and Leslie; step-grandchildren—Jayle, Nathan and Abie; great-grandchildren—Norah and Ben.
