Stanley (Steamer) Anders, 75 - April 12, 2015

Stanley “Steamer” Edwin Anders, 75, of Farnam died Sunday, April 12, 2015, at his home with family members present.
Services will be conducted at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel on Thursday, April 16, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Neil Kloppenborg officiating. Burial will be at the Farnam Cemetery.
A visitation will take place at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel in Gothenburg on Wednesday (today) from 1 to 8 p.m.
Anders was born at Anselmo on May 25, 1939, to Clyde and Leola (Fletcher) Anders. He grew up on ranches in the Bassett area and graduated from Rock County High School in Basset in 1957.
On Dec. 21, 1958, he married Janet Steward at Johnstown. To this union, a daughter was born. The couple later divorced.
In November of 1978, he married Carol Kraft at Cozad. They later divorced.
He married Dorthy Earll on May 29, 1988, at her home north of Cozad.
During his lifetime, he resided at the Dobesh Ranch at Eddyville, at North Platte, Valentine and the Community Ranch at Rose, at Broken Bow, Cozad and Farnam.
Anders was a ranch hand on various ranches in north central Nebraska, and worked for Paulsen Inc. of Cozad, Smidt Grain Bin Construction and various trucking companies, the last of which was Nebraska Salt and Grain of Gothenburg.
His interests included rodeoing in his younger days, bowling, dancing, hand-held video games and playing cards as well as family get-to-gethers and being with his friends, according to family members.
Anders was preceded in death by: his parents, Clyde and Leola; his grandparents; two infant brothers—Dale and Allen; a sister, Sharol; step-grandson, Scott Earll.
Survivors include: his wife, Dorthy Earll Anders of Farnam; his daughter, Jody (Randy) Cashion, James and Daniel of Little Elm, TX; sister, Jeniel Anders; a great-nephew, Brishan Anders of Broken Bow; niece, Larissia Anders of Kearney; step-children—Melinda (Mike) Griffith of Cedar Rapids, IA, Elaine Schlothauer of Fort Morgan, CO, Clayton (Connie) Earll of Gothenburg and Leslie Earll (Larry Wysocki) of San Francisco, CA; step-grandchildren—Rosey (Ron) Meyers of Cedar Rapids, IA, Billi Joe Wilcox and Misty (Mike) Byrns of Lexington, Shane Schlothauer of Ft Morgan, CO, Susie (Phillip) Walker of Maxwell, Jason Earll of Minnesota, Bob (Kyla) Earll of Nebraska City and Buddi (Jim) Myers of Gothenburg; step-great-grandchildren—Trisha, Brittany, Ema, Katy, Matthew, Gracie, Caleb, Izabella, Brayden, Tristan, Laynie, Scottlyn and Sarah; numerous other relatives and his dogs, Julie and Cookie.
Memorials are suggested to the Farnam Library, the Farnam Senior Center and the Farnam Fire and Rescue.
